I'm getting ready to make my first HDTV purchase..My upper limit is $5000 and I'd like to approach a 60 inch screen. I have a small Samsung and like the model but for my new theater TV I think I like the plasmas I see best...Advice please.

Considering your budget and size requirements I would opt for the Elite Kuro 151. As a first time HDTV buyer here I can say it is one HECK of a first tv in which you will not be let down.

With that kind of price range you are in Pioneer Elite Country or The New KRP Line of Pioneer which will start shipping in early January.

the good thing about a high budget is you have a definitive choice - The pioneer elite. Buy ASAP and start enjoying the best PQ available. It really approaches perfection in every category.


It seems you haven't heard too much about them, so here's a review to get you excited. There are countless other reviews just like it, these sets are universally praised and have had the industry scrambling for the past couple years. Still nobody can touch 'em.

111 is the 50 inch version, 151 is the 60 inch version.

The Samsung PN63A760 is a 63" plasma that might be at or slightly above you price. The PN63A650 is the next model down and it's also awesome.
