I was hoping you guys might be able to help me with something. I've got a Fisher 854 rack system that my parents have been using for years. It's been a great system, but unfortunately it looks like the amp is dying/has died. Whenever I connect the speakers up to it, I get loud cracking noises coming out along with the music. I've used several different sets of speaker wire and speakers, on all of the components (cd, radio, turntable etc), so thats why I'm thinking the amp is dying.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knew where to find a replacement amp, or if I can hook up a different fisher model amp to the rest of the setup. I don't know too much about audio components, so I have no idea if this is possible.

I've searched ebay and google, and found a guy selling the same system, but unfortunately he's in Atlanta and I'm in Michigan so I have little hope that he would be willing to ship it this far. I'm emailing to ask, but also looking at other alternatives

If you can offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
