my cp72 is not reading disk now. I understand this is common. $90 to fix. Can buy a dennon 1600 local for 390. Is the denon as good of picture as the panasonic cp72? will I continue to have problems with the panasonic?
My CP72 died after 8 months with the same symptoms you are having. I gave it away and bought the Denon 1600. Believe it or not the 1600 has slightly better picture quality. I love the picture quality of Panasonics but this is the second player from them that has died prematurely.
There appear to be lots of these common failures with the CP72 after 7-8 months, looks like its actually worth an extended warranty! Have there been any reported failures of the single disc models Denon DVD-1600, Panasonic XP30,XP50,RP82?
