Flat Panel over the fireplace, official thread?

love it, hate it or just don't care, there are many threads and questions about mounting flat panels over the fireplace. I did it and I always try to help out others that have questions, concerns, whatever. It would be nice to be able to point someone to a single thread containing input from people that have actually gone the fireplace route.


Any other fireplace mounters interested in working on a thread ? maybe a quick little faq and lots of pics, of course.


well, either way I'll post my setup:


Pioneer 5050:

Used concrete sleeve anchors to fasten the mounting plate to the brick:

good idea! how did you manage the power cord? (electric violation concern )did you route it inside the wall or did you have a outlet installed behind your plasma?

she was already there... for some reason the owner that remodeled the place in the late 80's had the vision to have an outlet ran up there, god bless him!
