It’s been awhile since I started a poll - but I’m noticing even more wall mount (flat panel) matching speakers coming out and I’m curious as to what you’re installing. I anticipate more than 10 different possibilities thus I’ve forgone the poll taking feature of the forum. I’ll keep track of the results in a spreadsheet, and post them at the top of this thread (if anyone responds).
I’d like to know - What is your choice of speakers to go with your flat screen? If you include your flat screen brand and model I’ll organize the table accordingly.

Only interested in those with 5.1 systems (min).

Feel free to comment on their performance and why you ultimately made your choice.

You've got to add the DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY MYTHOS speakers.

They are priced great and they are amazing speakers. Every review I have ever read is a great review.

I have Def. Tech Bookshelf speakers and they are awesome.

Please put Def. TEch. on your poll.

Or they prefer to discuss speaker choices in the speaker forum -- that's a good thing.

Funny you should suggest this, my previous and first query on this subject was posted there, and it received about the same amount of replies (about 10). If I remember correctly the consensus was - if you are going to invest in a 5.1 system don't waste your money on small plasma (wall mounted) matching speakers - get something with a min. 5-1/2 woofers, and a HSU subwoofer IIRC

At the time I remember there was one other significant thread over there. And again IIRC the consensus on that one (with about 20 replies) was to go with NHT L5's, which while very nice was outside my budget.

My Oct 2005 Home Theater just arrived, and they reviewed and gave very high scores for these relatively thin 3.6" deep, but with 6.5" woofers.

Nice, very nice.

Just noticed they also reviewed the Yamaha YSP-1. Let's see overall rating of 86, and the this paragraph sums it up (as if anyone could in a single paragraph)

The concept behind the YSP-1 Digital Sound Projector is absolutely fascinating for audio enthusiasts, and Yamaha deserves credit for their execution. What the speaker does well it excels in, specifically the beam modes designed for music enjoyment. If your walls are bare. the five-beam mode does an adequate job of replicating a five speaker set-up.
