I've read the threads about the fli2200 in dvd's but was curious to know whether anyone has access to a television with this chip? The Sage web site has a Jan. PR saying that Skyworth(model 2982) will have a 29" later this year and XOCECO(model HT-3281 B) will have a 32" availabe in April. The Faroudja based chip has recieved good reviews in dvd's; I wonder how it'll do in a tv?

Thanks

Hi Dumbest,

And thanks for one of the Smartest threads in the forum!

Here's a link to the produced by the XOCECO HDTV sets produced by Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic Co., Ltd.: http://www.xoceco.com.cn/englishpage.../hdtv/hdtv.htm

A 40 incher sure would be nice. However, for those of us in Europe, the Skyworth set might be more interesting, as although it isn't listed yet in their website (the Skyworth 1050P DVD player isn't either, so that doesn't mean it isn't for sale as of now), most of their TVs are full multistandard Pal/Secam/NTSC. Nice. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.skyworth.com.hk/index.htm

We may have to ask our friends in Hong Kong to look into these sets for us in the near future, as they are apparently in the forefront of bang for the buck technology packing in many goodies that mainstream Western manufacturers are reluctant to propose for various reasons.

Keep us posted on what you find out. I'll do likewise.

Cheers,
