While this has been mentioned in the Video Processors and DVD hardware forums, there does not appear to be a mention of this information in this forum yet. Looks like Genesis is going to agressively market the Faroudja technology obtained in the Sage acqusition. Genesis announced here: http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir...item_id=298056 that it will be releasing its FLI2300 chip in November. Looks to combine all of the functions of its 3-chip arrangement on one chip?

If I may draw on the superior knowledge of the members of this forum, my question is do you think that the integration of this FLI2300 chip in future projectors will eliminate the need to use outboard deinterlacers and/or scalers with interlaced sources? Or for that matter, does the Mits XD200 with the Sage 3-chip design now also accomplish this? Your thoughts would be very helpful in planning my future buys. Thanks.
