LOL ok heres another one...

Looking for floor speakers and a center

for 5.1 or 7.1

Budget is about $1500-2000

I have an SVS sub so no need there and I have some wave crest book shelves I can use for rears.

I plan on using it primarily for watching tv..movies shows sports

Any suggestions?

Someone suggested Emotiva speakers.

Accessories4less has some canton speakers

Thanks

One vote for the Emotiva T1 or T2. On sale for $498 for T1 and $799 for T2. Pair with C1 or C2 center.

Canton's are very nice sounding speakers too. Tough choice.

I'm close to jumping on Chane A5.4s (~$880 pair) and the A2.4 center ($279). Might want to throw these into the mix also.

The Emotiva T1's and the Chane 5.4's are both very good options. For $1,500, you may be able to get two LSiM 705's (600 each when on sale at Adorama) and a Polk LSiM 704c center channel (230-250 on sale at Adorama).

What about Martin Logans?
Great speakers but for your budget over priced if you are just looking at floor standers.

I have their LX16s and they are great and still a great value but they are not floor speakers.

$1500-$2000 is for how many speakers as you mentioned 5.1 or 7.1?

Keep in mind the EXCELLENT brands at Crutchfield and their flat $75/pair return shipping fee within 60 days.

Returning to Emotiva, (excellent speakers), could cost $200 and returning the Cantons to A4L, (great speakers), could cost $500.

Where are you located as there might be a local manufacturer near you.

Dynaudio Excite line is being discontinued and can be had at a nice price. Even better used. X34 should be in your price range.

Ascend Acoustics makes excellent speakers as well. Now you have too many choices, too many suggestions. We all have favorites.

No brainer then.

Call and visit Chane in Tampa.

Yes it's a 4 hour drive but I think you'll end up only making the trip once! :p

Heck, Jon may visit Miami often for all I know and might bring you some to audition as I've heard him doing that in the past.

T1 and T2 are similar designs but the T2 is a better choice for larger rooms.

Same for the C1 and C2.

Most with Emotiva match the B1 with C1 and the towers with the C2 but all who own the C2 say it is huge so make sure you have the space.

For primarily HT/TV you wouldn't need towers. You can just get 3 Chane A2.4 across the front and double down on the subs. Chane will be easier to drive than Emotiva and can handle higher volume should you feel the desire to crank it up to 11.

I have no crystal ball but, no, I don't think eliminating the T1 at closeout prices means Emotiva is going out of business.

And if they do who cares relative to speakers which rarely if ever fail and need a replacement driver.
