I am looking for CHEAP floorstanding speakers for a secondary room. These are going to be used for watching TV, some movies, and music. I am interested to know what you would say the best speakers are for the least amount of money. Thanks

Self powered? Unpowered, i.e., driven by the tv or (some) receiver? What speaker resistance? power handling? To be used with/without sub? More details about how they will be used...

I have an old Denon receiver (1707) that I will be using. I don't want to buy a sub if I don't have to. I am looking for entry level speakers but I want the best quality for the money. These are mainly going to be used by my wife for music. I have the good stuff in the basement and she wants something upstairs "for her."
