I know there have been many threads about the SX-HTB 5 speaker set, but I'm curious about Fluance's bookshelf speakers. I'll be a first time speaker buyer and I want to go with Fluance because the low cost plus decent sound will help me get some exposure before spending the motherload one day. I currently have a Panasonic SA-XR25 for a receiver.
The home theater set looks alright, but I think I'd be more inclined to buy 4 of their SV-6 bookshelfs and their AV-SC center channel. My room is narrow but long (10'6" x 33) so I'm thinking I'll get more balanced sound by not getting the big floorstands. I'm also planning to buy a decent (not high-end) powered sub from a recognized company, because I figure I'll be able to port it to a future system and I want good bass during movies.
I'll probably be doing 80/20% movies/music.
Any opinion on their bookshelf speakers? They seem to advertised as higher-end than some of their other speakers, but looking at the specs I'm not sure what would make them better.
