Focal has just announced an update to its Flagship Utopia Series. The French company has redesigned its signature product while improving the acoustics (new voice coil, 'M'-shaped grilles within the earcups, etc.). All of the exclusive, high-end technology that have made the Utopia headphones so popular can still be found in this new edition, bringing spectacular listening experiences wherever you go.

The honeycomb grille on both the exterior and interior of the earcups create a distinct and eye-catching appearance. These headphones feature a new design which include Black Chrome rings that are now joined from the inside for a cleaner appearance. The motor unit for the speaker drivers now also has a black and red double grille.

Engineers at Focal chose a new voice coil composed of copper to boost durability and aluminum to make the headphones lighter. This alloy has a revitalized sound that adds even more neutrality, with booming bass and milder treble. Furthermore, the grilles within the earcups have been redesigned to be M-shaped which follow the curves of the speaker drivers for improved linearity and clarity. In addition to these advancements, the new Utopia headphones still retain everything that made the first editions so famous, such as full-range speaker drivers made of pure Beryllium, a 'M'-shaped dome, and being fully open-backed.
