It's on now along with 6 other titles
The guys had the DVD finished late friday night it takes us at least the time of the movie and if there is any modification that we need to make it takes a little longer. We try to post them the same day when it's possible... There is not that much motion to the movie but when there is it add so much to it specially the gun shots. Enjoy!

I enjoyed The Departed, you were right about the gun shots.

Now, I see you have Babel up on SD, and I am looking forward to watching it next week, on Blu-Ray, so hopefully the codes will be available then.

To everyone at D-Box (especially Yannich) -

Thanks for all of your help and dealing with my pestering phone calls. Everybody there was really friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for a better company to deal with. I got everything up and running - including the blu-Ray. The codes for Talladega Nights didn't load though. Is there a way that I can do it manually? If so, what is it? Thanks randyzell

Hey Randy!

Thanks a lot! it's always nice to get positive feedback.

First thing is to make sure the codes are loaded in the controller. You can see it in the new movie section. Also did you try Talladega Nights on DVD or Bluray? I'll investigate more on Monday so far I haven't seen different version of Bluray but who knows.

I'll let Simon knows...

Hey Yannick, when I try and use Audio mode, I'm getting feedback from the sub input. Any idea what's going on?

Also, will you guys be coding Jet Li's Fearless?

I tried the Talladega Nights on blu-Ray and it said "searching for audio". It registered 5.1, but nothing else. On the 340c controller it has settings for games and sports, etc. Is that for when it is compatible for video games? Is there any word on when it will be compatible for ps3 and xbox360 ? thanks randyzell

That's what the audio mode is a feedback from the sub (kind of a shaker) for all the non encoded movie, music, gaming or sports event anything that have audio will get you this feedback.

Randy,

Did the other Bluray worked? I'm wondering if you PS3 config are all set properly? Give us a call when you have a chance and we'll see what's going on! I just answered Gino about the audio mode see previous comment. Compatibility with consoles I have no Idea when this is going to happen. We are working on it but I don't have a date. That will be the Ultimate though...

I watched Casino Royale last night, and it was fantastic. Is D-Box going to start providing codes for the un-compressed PCM track, as well as the DD track?

Unfortunately, my new Blu-Ray player is buggy, like my first one, so it is probably going to have to go in for repair, so I will be switching back to HD-DVD, and aquiring more of those discs. Any word on providing codes for HD-DVD?

I realise this is what audio mode does, just feels like a butt kicker. When I say feedback, I mean when I have the subwoofer in on the controller connected to my preamp sub out, I get a pulsing feedback in all my speakers. Like a pulsing hum.

I'd like to know about the lossless PCM track too. While we are spending big $$$

on HT, we shouldn't be left with a lossy format when we're watching the movie with D-Box.

I've been asking for HDDVD codes for ages but I guess D-Box is too busy to solve this

Well if you are playing a BD from a player you it won't matter. Your PCM track is used for your audio and the Digital out (DD5.1) is used for synchronizing with the D-Box so that's not an issue. It is one only if you are using the PS3 for playing BD.

As far as HDDVD, it's not that we are too busy Murat it's incompatible at the moment and there is nothing we can do about it. Again we are working with Toshiba so they can make the proper changes in order for us to be able to synchronize with the HDDVD formt. As you know they have a lot to do now that BD is pressuring them so it's very though to say how much time they spend on it, let's just say they have more urgent business.

Yannick, my experience is that, if you select the PCM track in the discs audio menu, the codes don't work, even though it is connected to the digital output.

Well you are right and I was totally wrong... sorry! I was under the impression that they were seperate. No word on when we are going to have this working yet, an HDMI interface is more than likely going to be the solution.

All these new audio formats are driving me nuts
I'm sick and tired of having a new format (video and audio) every f$%&@ year. Why not just stick to 2 or 3 formats at most?? Every manufacturer, studio, etc comes up with their own and all the HT market is totally lost and confused. LOL, it's getting worse than computers.

it's always the same when a new format/technology comes out but it normally settles down for a good 2-3 year after (to the most)
lol.

So far the only blu-ray movie that wasn't recognized was the Talladega Nights. I have tried about 20 of them and have that many more to try. It isn't a big deal. I went to Best Buy today to look at the new blu-ray releases. (Usually I buy them online because they are cheaper.) On the cover of AVP was a big sticker that said it was D-Box motion code equipped. I thought that was really cool. I bought the movie because of the sticker. Ha, ha ha.
Is that sticker going to be on all of the new releases, or was that a one time only thing to helppromote D-Box? The sticker makes it convenient because I don't have to look up everything on the computer. It seems like I am only buying movies that have the codes for them now.

To everyone who has HD: I am a big fan of HD. I was always downing the blu-ray because I didn't like the PS3. I finally bought one for the blu-ray player to experience the D-Box motion codes. I have about 30 HD movies. If HD doesn't start producing newly released titles- like blu-ray - then I think that they will go downhill. I understand that D-Box is spending more time creating new blu-ray codes. If HD doesn't get going on producing a wider variety of movies and newer releases then the motion codes may be pointless. Give D-Box a break. There are only four or five guys working there, and they can't work 24/7. They have been giving 100% on everything though. It isn't their fault that Toshiba is taking their sweet time making the necessary changes to the HD format. Things can't happen instantly or overnight. They take time. The HD motion codes will come eventually and you'll know when it happens. I'm sure Yannick will let you know something as soon as he does. He's the type of guy that will call/email everyone personally with the information.

First of all, I'm very happy with D-Box service and especially with Yannick. IMO, he's doing a great job helping out many D-Box owners. OTOH, I must confess that I'm not a very patient guy and lately, I'm quite annoyed with these new audio formats

Yannick, just a thought...

Would it help a bit, if we, customers, e-mail or fax Toshiba to save some time for this audio issue? I know that we are only a handful minority and a giant like Toshiba has more important priorites, but maybe they'll listen, who knows?

If you think it's a good move, can you give us their contact numbers, e-mails?

The biggest hurdle is finding the correct person to tell. Large companies are tough to talk to in that regards...
