isn't Apple going the Disney+ route with their streaming service?...meaning only family friendly shows?...if so that is disappointing...I want more HBO level of quality and content, not watered down versions like on network TV...since Ronald D. Moore is involved with this I'll keep an eye on it

That's what I've been reading and it's why I won't be buying the service at any price. As you note, there's already a glut of that stuff all over cable TV already.

Not at all by the looks of it. the list of shows already has some that are far away from family like the M. Night Shyamalan thriller series and some murder case stuff that doesn't seem PG at all. https://www.macworld.com/article/32...ows-and-series-news-actors-release-dates.html

Assuming Apple TV ever produces a massive must-watch hit (on the level of Game of Thrones or Handmaid's Tale), will there be any way to watch it for someone that has no connection with the Apple ecosystem; i.e., will I be able to subscribe for a month of the service via an app on my Roku?

Apple's new TV streaming service won’t just be available on the company’s own devices...the service will be coming to a range of smart TVs and streaming boxes via an updated Apple TV app...these include TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, and Vizio, and streaming services from Roku and Amazon...the app will be available on Macs, too...

the more I hear about this the more interesting it sounds...this might be the best of the new Apple TV+ programming announced so far...plus Ronald D. Moore is the showrunner

trailer looks good...the space shots look really impressive, I'm expecting reference Dolby Vision...this and 'See' look like the best of the Apple TV+ launch titles

I've only watched episode 1, which is intriguing but gives away little about where the series is going. But the pedigree alone is enough to keep me in for a couple more, at least.

But there was something decidedly weird with the audio via my ATV4k, which registered on my Denon as Atmos but sounded more like 5-channel stereo. "See" using the same signal path sounded spectacular, but was was out of sync.

Anyone else with audio issues on ATV+ shows?

I loved the first 3 episodes. Interesting alt-history take so far. I will most definitely be watching this one. Strong characters and some great acting so far. Even a pretty emotional moment already. Well done.

Watched the first episode, was not overly impressed... actually dozed off I think due to lack of action.

I'll rewatch it to be fair...

I intend to get an ATV for my primary streamer when I get my 4K TV, hopefully on Black Friday. So I'll be watching this one. What I'm hoping is that in future seasons they'll keep the space-race theme going and perhaps explore Mars colonization as the show moves forward in time. That sounds like it could be right up Ron Moore's alley.

my Apple TV 4K arrived this afternoon!...will be setting it up tonight...since I have 3 months to activate my free 1 year Apple TV+ promotion I'm thinking about waiting a bit before trying it out...the initial launch titles seem average at best...even the usually sure fire Ronald D. Moore series is not getting amazing reviews...the recent Ryan Gosling First Man movie seems like the more entertaining space story (I still haven't seen it yet)

I am tempted to check out 'See' just to 'see' the 4K/Dolby Vision quality

IMO, For All Mankind starts slow, but by the end of the 3rd episode, you'll probably stick around for more.

'See' in 4K/DV looks great!
