For movies and rockets, I would take the yamaha. If your speakers where a little more to neutral/bright I would take the pioneer for music only. Yamaha's are great for movies.

For Rocket RS550's, is 1014TX or RX-V650 better?
I run Rocket RS550 and bigfoot front speakers with satellite rears. I'm moving away from a Panasonic XR25 and am interested in getting either the Pioneer 1014TX or the Yamaha RX-V650. Which would you recommend for my speakers?
From experience I really like Yamaha for a good home-theater experience and have no experience with Pioneer.
The Rockets are not very bright speakers, even with the Panasonic running them.
I'm really just interested in the best home theater experience. Musical quality isn't a very high priority for me.
