Anyone out there have AT+T Digital Cable? Both my parents and inlaws have it, and with a recent software update, they cut the listings screen in half - that half now filled with advertising. If that happens with Replay ever, I'm hittin the road. I'm not saying it will, but we need to make our opinions clear - advertising has its place, especially when it keeps our monthly cost nonexistant, but don't let us lose functionality or convenience.

Yes, I have AT&T digital cable and that advertising is very annoying. However, the bad news is that my cable system comes with a Phillips box that Replay can't control. I even have the universal code for it and I can't get any of my universal remotes to control the Phillips box!

Needless to say, it sucks. That and other factors have prompted me to move to DirecTV.

Back to the subject, I don't want advertising on my guide screen or on Replay Zone screen. It take up too much room and I need all of the screen I can get. Pause screens are fine with me. If it keeps Replay in the market, I'd say GREAT, keep it coming.

There's a BIG difference. You have to PAY for the AT&T service and they are still showing ads??!? I'd get a petition started, work with your city government who deals with their contract, get the word out to all customers, and DEMAND that they either cut their price in half to go with it, or remove the advertising. If not, ya'll need to dump it. Go with satellite or hopefully you have local competition.

We wouldn't like it with Replay either, natch, but if it keeps the service free you at least get something for it.

I have AT&T (nee MediaOne) Digital Cable.

Yes, there was a recent software "update" for the cable guide.

No, I never use the AT&T cable guide. THat's what I got all them ReplayTVs and TiVos for.

But, thanks for the heads up. Now I can go home, check the cable guide, and find something new to get pissed about. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Oh, and while you're at it, get them to stop showing commercials before the movies in the theater...

Sorry, I know I sound cynical, but new revenue sources are *exactly* why cable companies are upgrading their infrastructures to digital.

If you saw the screenshot for AT+T digital cable, you wouldn't be too happy about it. It's ridiculous - imagine if when you're looking through shows on ReplayTV, you're only shown like the CURRENT time (not 2 hours) and you had to push RIGHT to see the future... what a pain!
