What a surprise.

Fox is finally transmitting a full 16x9 digital signal on WNYW-DT

today is May 15, 2002

I am watching "Magic's biggest secrets revealed" and to my amazement there are no black bars on the left nor right of the screen.

I always made sure to have my receiver display 4x3 content as 4x3, and 16x9 as 16x9. This isn't the first time ever that Fox in New York City is transmitting a full 16x9 picture but it is the first time that Fox is transmitting a 16x9 picture without the black bars.

Even the commercial are full screen (16x9).

Congratulations FOX!!!

All we need now is some true high definition content, not that "high resolution" stuff.

Could you believe that at 8:55 p.m.

FOX went back to the original display.

A 16x9 picture with black bars on the left and right.

Don't they realize that when they x-mit 16x9 with black bars, we the viewers don't have the option to zoom or "full screen" the video.

hrmmm.. their "widescreen" shows never had left and right bars for me. The last i watched being the star wars films.

only thing that bugs me (other than the fact that they don't do HD) is htier logo is always cut off on the buttom right. I don't care if it is there or not - but plz don't chop it in half.
