I've had the Denon AVCA10SE (Euro version of the 4800 sans tuner) for some time now. I'm very happy with it, but everybody is drooling over the 3803 and this got me thinking.

Nominally, the 3803 is a notch below the category of the 4800, so replacing the 4800 with the 3803 would seem foolish. But I could use some of the features of the 3803 (composite and s-video to component, audio delay adjustment, DPLII) and power would still be ample for my speakers. And I'd have a tuner! I still wouldn't have Dolby Headphone, which I'd love, but that is really hard to come by.

The question is, would I notice any decrease in sound quality, with music or movies? I'd lose the THX, but I don't think I care. How do the processors compare? And the PSUs?

I could wait for the rumored 4803 or 4804, but I guess the price will be initially pretty steep.

Thanks in advance.
