The ceiling over my screen is low (~8ft) due to a soffit above. My receiver supports 9.2, so I wanted to hook up front high speakers. The question is whether to install the speakers at the top edge of the ceiling (under the soffit), or in the front face of the soffit.
Seating is about 15' from the screen, and the soffit is ~4' deep, so the front high speakers would be much closer than the LCR speakers. Would the built-in Audyssey EQ be able to compensate for this properly, or would it make for a strange effect?
