I'm currently waiting for delivery details on a pair of Infinity P363 tower speakers that I purchased on Amazon for $104/each about two weeks. I was waiting on the towers to ship before getting the matching PC351 center speaker. While I eagerly await details on when they will leave the warehouse (if ever), a bit of doubt has crept in... is all this waiting worth it?? Is there something as good, or better, that I could have immediately?

Basically, I'm in search of two 3-way towers and a 3-way center for the front of my 5.1 system. While I wait for my ~$200 pair to arrive, could I have gotten another set of towers and a center channel instead and have it now?

If anyone has suggestions on immediate purchase options for front speakers as I have described (around $400 for the set), please share. I just haaaaaaaate waiting!

Oh boy, the ol' buyers remorse is creeping in even before your speakers arrive.

Could you have done better? Maybe, but probably not.

You could buy other speakers but I doubt they'd be any better, just different. Sound preference is in the ear of the listener.

A 3 way speaker is not inherently better than a 2 way. Depends on the make and model, crossovers, drivers, etc.

Other choices.

I've never heard any of these in person except the JBL's at Fry's Electronics so I couldn't tell you which one is better. Its a listener preference anyway.

Since you're already agonizing might as well make you agonize so more.

Hard to get anything else for $400 for LCR. Only problem is having to wait forever for parts. I bought a pair of P363 and not sure what happen, but the two woofers on one of the speaker malfunction and it's in the repair shop. Don't know how long it'll be. Makes me think I should have ordered from ID, easier to get replacement parts. On the other hand, you could always use them as surrounds in the future, cheaper than bookshelf with stands

Thanks for the research and suggestions!! Great job. Based on what I'm seeing as options, I'm thinking I'll go with the Andrew Jones set for now. The set is about $100 total off for all three speakers and they are in stock! Imagine that! I reached out to Amazon again tonight and they still have no idea when the Infinities I had ordered would ship, so I'm going to definitely cancel.

I would take the Cambridge S70 and S50, from what I have read they are fantastic speakers, and in a tier above the others you are looking at.
