I'm going to start working on my finished basement (eventually), and I'm not sure how I should go about treating the front wall. Should I:

apply OC701/703 to the entire front wall and build the FP screen in front of that.

or,

frame in a new wall, insulate it and cover with fabric, as well as incorporate the FP screen.

I think the second option will work well, and probably look better in the end.

I'm also going to be installing laminate flooring over top of dricore and building a seating riser. I'll also be trying to build in some corner traps and other treatments - although i'm limited for space.

Anybody with any experience on a similar project, tips, warnings etc. would be very helpful.

A second wall is either for in-wall speaker or isolation or perhaps to bring the room to desired lenght. In either case you would want to apply sound treatment like 703 or ductliner to the wall nearest the speaker.

That's what I had in mind....

Framing out the wall filling with pink and fluffy, then covering with OC and fabric.
