JVC DLA G11U Projector

I’m selling my home theater projector, JVC D-ILA-G11U (for a fraction of its original cost!). It produces an absolutely amazing picture. I have upgraded to the JVC HX1 (the next generation of the G11U), because we moved to a new place where a smaller projector was required, and we wanted the same great picture as from the G11U.

JVC DLA-D11U is a venue-grade projector. The 420 watt xenon bulb is very bright, resulting in colors that are very vibrant and true. At the same time, the projected image is smooth and film-like. DILA technology has the highest pixel fill factor of all digital projectors, around 93-95%, so you never see the pixel grid lines, the so-called screen door effect, even from closer than normal viewing distance. DILA also doesn’t suffer from rainbows/halos that plague other projectors and cause headaches in many viewers (like my wife).

I purchased the projector new from AVS in November 2000, and have babied it! It was installed in a single location hanging in a dedicated room (whole house was smoke free, pet free, no children). Its original lamp has 365 hours. I have the original box, remote, manual, and accessories.

What people say about JVC DILA projectors: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=569231

Specs:

• D-ILA image panel based on 0.9" reflective CMOS chip - proprietary D-ILA technology for unsurpassed image quality

• 1,365 x 1,024 native resolution for true SXGA full coverage of SXGA (1,280 x

1,024) graphics (SXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA))

• High brightness of 1,000 ANSI lumens (it’s bright!)

• 2:1 to 3:1 powered zoom lens with power focus

• Inputs: component, VGA / RGB, S-Video, composite, RS232 (control), I/R

• HDTV ready – supports 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i inputs

• Industrial build quality

WhisperFlow Hushbox

As a venue-grade projector with its 420 watt bright xenon bulb, the G11 is somewhat noisy. The fans needed to cool it are rather audible. The solution is to enclose the projector in a hushbox.

WhisperFlow ( http://whisperflow.com/ ) is the premier manufacturer of custom projector enclosures. The hushbox I’m selling was custom made for the G11U and has never been used. I’ve tested the G11 inside the box – works great!

Features:

• Manufactured from high-density sound proof acrylic plastic (smoke color)

• Interior lined with dB Engineering sound proofing foam

• Edmunds industrial optics glass covered opening for projector lens

• 2 (1 intake and 1 exhaust) silent variable speed internal fans provide cooling

• Cable access panel

• Intake fan filter guide

• External discharge fan baffle

• Built-in projector supports allow simple leveling

You can install the projector inside the WhisperFlow with or without utilizing the Chief mount.

Chief Manufacturing RPA-1500 projector mount

Chief RPA mounts are the best in the industry. The low-profile good looking mount provides for 3 axis adjustments (roll, pitch, and yaw). The mount comes in two parts – universal RPA bracket and SLB bracket for specific projector, the G11 in this case.

You can use the Chief mount to install the projector without using the hushbox. Or, mount the projector using this mount and install the hushbox around the projector.

There are two people interested in the whole package.

Right now, I would prefer to sell it this way.

Thanks for looking,

Max

You should have told me you were going to sell it, I would have bought it. I actually like the xenon light better than the HX1's mercury bulb. In addition, it has .9" panels, which are larger than the new ones in the HX1. :)

I also have a JVC G11U to sell - I'm moving soon. Projector was calibrated by AV Sciences. This projector produces a great picture!! :) See other comments and info earlier in this thread.

Also included is a hushbox and three replacement lamps (still in original boxes).

Looking to sell as a package. All reasonable offers will be considered.

Update:

Projector and hushbox (Whisperflow) - Asking $1100 plus shipping

Three replacement lamps (List price $900 each) - Asking $1200 for all three
