Fujitsu 42" or.......?

HI Guys....

:)

wondering if you guys can chime in and share your thoughts on this:

My viewing distance is 12ft....so a 50" PDP would be ideal. Problem is that every single set I look at, as something that I dont like!

Panny 60U series... bezel is awful

Samsung 5053....I see noise! Lots of it, specially in fast moving scenes and in dark areas...

Nec...don`t want to buy something without first evaluating it.

Elite 1130HD... pricyyyyyy

So this morning I saw the Fujitsu 42" (guess was the 40 series) and the picture looked amazing. Very, very natural. But it was a 42"! The price was great too!

Budget is $3500 more or less...

so i am wondering if I should really get a 42" Fujitsu and be contentto have the best plasma out there....

or maybe get a 50" and live with the little problems....?

Help please...!

PS: Forgot to say that this panel will be used for DVD watching only! (for now)

Bumpy absorbed....

If your viewing distance is going to be around 12", 50" screen would be preferred. The Fuji 40 series for the 42" you're referring to is P42HHA40US isn't it? That TV over 4.x grand.. which is way more than your budget. It does not use Panasonic glass, but it does have AVM-2 processor. This TV would have the worst value. it's a nice TV though but you may want to reconsider.

In order to enjoy cutting-edge viewing quality with DVD movies(SD) at short viewing distance is the Fujitsu P50XHA40US. It will give you the impression of as if you were watching a lesser brand TV viewing High Def and watch it up close. That's what this TV will do. Furthermore, this TV is also "designed" for PC use/connectivity. It comes with DVI-D, HDMI, and VGA. The DVI-D on this TV will enable high range of resolutions, almost as res-friendly as the VGA. Almost no other TV is equipped with this... most of them come with that crappy HDMI.

Now you're talking some serious amount of money. Talk about Pro HD-1130 being expensive?... :D

Thank you noobiecheez :)

I'm getting crazy here! lol

Best Buy had this TV for around my budget really, that is why I was impressed; although I know that a 50" would be much better...

Getting tired of all this researching! Why does this even exist????!?!

Decisions and decisions.. it's tough to make! I know what you mean...

:)
I'll sleep it over tonight and if tomorrow I'll feel they way I feel now.....

I'll give a call to a forum sponsor and buy the 8UK.....and so be it!
I purchased the Fujitsu P42HHA40US about 4 months ago from Magnolia in Best Buy. They were on sale because they were going to stop carrying the Fujitsu's. I was also considering a Pioneer . I had picture size constraints that limited me to a 42-43 inch set.

I am extremely pleased with the Fujitsu. Excellent HD and DVD viewing; with almost limitless picture tweaking adjustments. Exceptionally good SD picture as well. Also there is the 3 year warranty. The only negative is it only has one HDMI input. I purchased an external HDMI switch that allows 3 HDMI inputs.

I do not use it with a PC; so thats not an issue.

My viewing distance is 10-14 feet; and the size is fine. However, if I didn't have any constraints, I would go with a 50 inch.
The newest 42" Fujitsu HD panel has what I consider to be the best PQ of any 42" plasma I've ever seen. Having both the 50" Fujitsu 40 series and now the 42" 51 series, I can honestly say the PQ of the 42" is simply a smaller scale version of the 50" with the same PQ. That's quite a compliment if your familiar with the 50". Black levels, color quality and overall picture detail is simply stunning.
Thanks for all the thoughts and replies guys...

I finally went with the Elite 1130HD. Lots of money, but in the end, if I have to spend for a plasma, I better do not have any regrets!
I honestly believe you will be disappointed at 12 feet unless you spring for a 50-incher.

I know you said you don't want to buy a NEC unless you first evaluate it. And there's NO better place to evaluate one than in your own home. I know that at least one of the forum sponsors has a 30-day return policy, and if it should happen that you don't like it, you can return it.

But from what I've read about the new NEC panels over at the NEC thread (almost 100 pages now), you WON'T be returning it. ;)

my .01 (worth half as much)
I don't think you'll be sorry. Rates among the very highest to my eyes-on experience.

Congrats! BTW, where did you find one? They're getting about as rare as the last gen Panys!
Thanks yobob!

I got one at my local Sound Advice (tweeter). 130 on order and I was the 111th to reserve one. I hopefully will have it by the end of the month.

I'm playing with my Toshiba HD-A1 for now...using a Sharp 26" LCD.
:D woowoooooo!

thank you.
These Fujitsu 51 models are found where at exactly? I've looked under Best Buy and C.C.'s site and I can't seem to locate them...

While Magnolia (Best Buy's high end) used to carry Fujitsu, they have since discontinued the line due to poor sales (the Fujitsu's were simply too expensive for most of their customers; pretty much anyone looking to drop that kind of coin goes to a dealer with significantly better demo/install/customer service capabilities).

On second thought, maybe you shouldn't go see one. Once you look at the Fuji's it's hard to settle for anything less. The Pio Elites are close, but especially on SD material, there is nothing out there that looks as sweet.

I was told by a Magnolia rep that "non-Best Buy" Magnolia stores would still carry them. Trouble is, where I live, there aren't any stand-alone Magnolias to confirm this.
Go to plasmavision.com and punch in your zip...it should bring up a liist of dealers in your area.

Are you saying that 50 inch is the best size for plasma PQ? I read somewhere that 42 inch was the sweetspot for HD. Just curious which is the best.
