I've been noticing that my HTPC looks fuzzy (slightly unfocused) on my LT150. Previously, I just thought it was my homemade cabling. But now I have reason to believe otherwise.

My rig:

1GHz Celeron on Via 694 chipset

Radeon 7200

Homemade Shielded Cat5e cable to pass RGB.

So I was noticing that Win98SE looked very fuzzy. I tried focusing with the ring on the LT150, but it didn't help.

Hooking up a laptop with Win2K showed exceptional clarity though, with the same cable.

Now, is this a OS problem? Or video card? Does anyone else have fuzziness with their Radeon 7200?

This was all while simply displaying the desktop.

Initially I had it set at optimal for 98SE.

I then changed it to 72MHz.

I didn't see a change in clarity on 98SE, and so repeated this with Win2K to notice no difference between "optimal" and 72MHz, but the laptop with Win2k was much sharper.

I run Windows 98se with a Radeon 7200 on my Lt150. I use Powerstrip to set the resolution at 1024 x 576 with a refresh rate of 60MHz. The desktop is very sharp.

Does "optimal" mean 60 hz?

The LT150 should always be run at 60hz. Any other refresh is converted to 60 and may cause tearing.
