Fuzzy/fading picture using either RCA output?

The picture on one of my RTV5080 (upgraded a long time ago to 160) started getting a little blurry and fading out...sometimes getting really dark. I switched to the other set of RCA outputs, and things seemed to get instantly better. But now, here it starts acting that way again.

It's not the recording that's bad...I can stream it to another Replay box inches away and it's picture perfect...so it must be the rtv's OUTputs (or, I guess, theoretically it could be this set of INputs on the TV...???...). I haven't yet had a chance to try its coax output to see if that's the same....

I doubt it is some type of external interference, or the before-mentioned inches-away rtv would be giving the same problems, and it doesn't.

I was wondering if anyone else had this same type of problem and could offer some advice....????

btw, I haven't tried just changing cables (though it's not a cheap one) or using s-video, though I could try that....

I'd say try that first, as that could give you a more definitive diagnosis. Maybe a hardware expert like Mikeyboy could offer an opinion in the meantime?
