Howdy...just an FYI on this unit I just went to check out. It has about 1650 hrs on the CRT's. The red is a 10, blue 6 to 7, green 5.5 to 6.5 I just looked at them with a flashlight shining thru lense and I'm no expert. The green wear looked a little odd in that it was sort of checkerboard like with some areas fairly darker than others. No remote.

You could get it for $500 or maybe less. Someone just picked up the other one he had just before I arrived at about 1PM for $500. He had 3 calls about the projector the 15 or so minutes I was there. Interestingly, he had no interest in knowing the hours and condition of the tubes. He just didn't care. He'd rather tell the people who called that he didn't know anything. He's pretty much a junk dealer. I mean junk junk. I can't help but wonder how he came to find these. He also had a VPH 50 he's keeping.

I called this guy. He can barely speak English. He doesn't know ANYTHING about shipping. He doesn't know ANYTHING about packing. With a ebay feedback rating of 10, it's not surprising. He doesn't know how to do theses things, and because of the language barrier it will be difficult to explain to him what he needs to do. This is probably a really good deal for some that can pick it up, but trusting him to safely ship it is taking a big chance.

Heh, I called him too. He was... colorful ;) He wanted $600 cash, then said never mind his wife was yelling at him not to take it. He did volunteer that he had bought them for a lot of money because someone had told him he could make money on them. Whether you can believe that or not... *shrug*

Damn, it's awful cheap. Even with all of the negatives, I'm still tempted to bid...

I went to this guys place to check it out as well. Could barely squeeze myself into the doors, it was FILLED with junk. Except for a few PJs here and there, and a nice motorcycle!

Took a good look at the tubes and they are toast. Definitely will need a retube on both G and B. I'd rate the G and B tubes at a 2-3 according to Curt's scale.

Heavy burn with some text burn as well.

Still a good unit for parts or a retube project.

About him being a junk dealer. Some of those nasty, packed with JUNK stores, make good money. They get some good stuff, but it quickly sells, so all you mostly see is the junk. Not the most reputable of business' though...

OK, so who outbid me? Anyone know who "kimytan" is on ebay? He/She is based in Alpharetta, GA, and the only CRT guru I know at that location is Terry.

At any rate, congrats!........... And damn you!! :)

Kimytan, if you're reading this post and intend to part it out, do you wanna sell me your Red lens???

WOW it sold for 860 . He sold his other one with better tubes and a remote for 600 to someone locally who saw the ebay ad .

I had the guy agree to 300 each and 50 bucks to take them to the airport. I guess he is glad he put them on ebay :) .. He is an ok Guy and he comes across various projectors periodically .

Hmm. You bad mouthed the PJ, then bid big money on it. Me thinks it might have been in better condition than you tried to lead us to believe.

Phil,

The tubes were toasty as I described. If the buyer sees this forum, I'm sure he can confirm that. I think his handle is "Kim Tan".

I wanted it for parts so I was willing to pay a lil' bit for it.

Sorry if you felt misled.....but I did say that it was good for parts or a retube, which isn't exactly badmouthing the unit.

Someone got it for a reasonable price, toasty tubes or not.
