My wife finally gave in and bought me a PS3 for X-mas. There are plenty of game I am interested in, but I am having trouble finding games that she is willing to try. We have a Wii which has a lot of games that she likes but most PS3 games are too intense. I was thinking about Little Big Planet but does anyone know if the two player in that game is local or just online? Also if anyone else has any other suggestions for fun and non-gamer friendly 2 player games let me know.

thanks in advance

LBP is 4-player local and online. I recommend it, good for non-gamers, a lot of fun.

I'd also recommend Pixeljunk Monsters. I never play it single player, because two-player is just way more fun.

my gf is the same, she cannot get into the in-depth, intense games.

Try Pixeljunk monsters which is extremely addictive and fun. You can download a demo version in the PS Store.

Some others that she has enjoyed:

SF2 Puzzle Fighter

Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman

And obvious games such as Guitar Hero and Rockband.

i'd highly recommend any music game for a wife or GF. mine scoffed at RB when i bought it, but now she plays gitar on hard... not bad for a wife!

also, if she likes to sing there is the singstar series.

Yes!! Completely forgot about music rhythm games. My sis hates video games but I always hear her telling her bf 'babe let's go play rockband/GH at your house' or 'bring over RB/GH to my brothers apartment tonight'. Even the misses digs it. I haven't tried singstar yet, I'm afraid it'll create a monster out of the misses lol

but again, OP, don't even think about it... just go and get LBP

For a while there, my wife and I were playing a lot of Super Puzzle Fighter HD. We also used to put in a bunch of time on the mime toss in Pain. Even though she refuses to contribute to the pile of plastic in the living room, she loves to play Rock Band and Guitar Hero at other people's houses. I also know quite a few of my friends' wives and gfs really go for Pixeljunk Monsters.

lol same with me...a lot of Puzzle fighter time lately.

I guess whatever it takes to make the gf happy, the least I could give her for all the time I spend playing Madden/MGS4

Games my wife enjoys/enjoyed/bought for herself:

1) Rock Band 1 & 2

2) Singstar

3) LittleBigPlanet

4) Super Puzzle Fighter II HD Demo - she doesn't want me to buy the full version

5) Marvel Super Heroes

6) LEGO Indiana Jones - she bought this for herself, she had a blast with LEGO Star Wars II for the PS2 (in fact, she loved it so much, our wedding cake had LEGO Star Wars as the cake topper, and we threw in a few other nerd references during the ceremony).

She doesn't call herself a gamer, but the above games she had a lot of fun with.

Wow, thanks for all the good and fast responses. I forgot about all the PSN games, and I think I will pick up LBP. We have Guitar Hero for the Wii and she refuses to play it for more than one song at time because she fails on easy. I tried to explain that she would get better with practice be she gives up too quickly (she is really bad though... I love her but she has no rhythm).
