I think my new player is able to adjust the Gamma, I've seen this in the manual but so scare to touch it. Could you please tell me a little bit about how to adjust this value? What is the benefit from this?
The manual said: "A positive value allows you to bring out low level details in dark scenes, while a negative value will emphasize contrast". Is this the rule of thumb?
The best progressive scan DVD players that have gamma adjustment are the JVCs. I would recommend the JVC XV-SA600 for $200 which has every picture setting you can imagine, has scaling and zooming, and plays every kind od disc on the planet and has a very nice progressive scan picture second to to the RP82 or CP72.
