Can anyone out there please describe what exactly it is the Gamma setting does on a projector. I have the Sanyo PLV-60 and the Gamma goes from 0 - 15. The higher the setting the brighter or whiter the picture. It defaults at 8 and I have tried calibrating with AVIA at 0, 5, and 10 and each looks pretty good, but the '0' setting definetly has a darker picture. Any advice here would be helpful (i.e., is it like sharpness where you turn it all the way down??).

Thanks,

Jack

I really dont have any clue about the PVL-60 (unfortunately), but you might want to check out the following links for some general gamma info:

I'll got out on a limb say that because the PVL-60 is a HT projector the default setting would be designed to give a something close to the correct gamma curve for video, but that is a total guess.
