Yes it's for real.
Yes it's the most economical buy on the market right now.
NO it is not a re-badged Sampo.
As for reviews, there is one that incorrectly states the unit is identical to the Sampo sold by Costco. Cnet has a real review - outside of that there has been some feedback on the forum by those who have seen it - try the search engine.

That honor goes to Sampo which I can have for $3247 with wall mount and table stand (tax included).

Gateway has a built in TV tuner. Sampo's tuner is an additional $200.
But it's not even High Definition. It's only 480P. that's alot of money to spend on a non-HD set.
