I was at Gateway looking at their DLP television today and they had a gateway package hooked up to it. It consisted of a 6.1 gateway receiver and a nice front speaker, surround speakers and a 400 Watt sub all made by Gateway. The 100 Watt per channel receiver and the sub kicked total system power was 1000 Watts, all for 899.

Im considering getting this system. Any suggestions, or any information on this system would be greatly appreciated. Before i heard this i was gonna get the Highly rated Onkyo HTIB for 499. If anyone has heard either or both of these please help me out and tell me what you think.

Thanks

You'd likely be dealing with Gateway's first generation product which might not be a good idea on such an integrated deal. Onkyo has been around for a while making quality HT packages.

Initially I thought I've heard a bad review of Gateway's HT system, but after looking a the specs, I'm knida intrigued by the "HSU designed" subwoofer.
