My monitor cannot display black! Even if I turn the brightness all the way down along with the RGB bias controls. Anyone ever have this happen and know what to do to fix it?

Thanks

Also, does anyone have the service manual for this?

Hi,

We have a bunch of SGI branded FW-900 monitors exhibiting the same problems at work.

The tech at work was able to fix it by doing a "factory reset".... unfortunately I don't know how to do it. I know it is done from the front panel, so it must be a key combination from the few buttons on the front of the monitor.

Sorry I can't be more specific. :-(

I'll try to remember to ask the tech guy at work...

That would be a great help and also appreciated. I will pretty much give anything a try at this point.

Thanks

Select "color;" move down to "image restoration;" activate by moving control stick to the right. (You should then see it run through some grayish calibration screens.)

Also check that your contrast isn't set too high.
