Just as the title said, I was a bit surprised to see that with the Gefen 1x4 hdmi distribution box I was getting some blocking artifacts that werent there when it was removed from the chain and the cable used was a high end monster 400 hdmi cable so my question is does anyone know of a high quality hdmi distribution box that will take in an hdmi signal and have at least two outputs? im looking for a quality piece that wont introduce video error or artifacts, any ideas?

FWIW I am using a Gefen 2x2 to do exactly what you are doing--sending the signal to two different displays. I was told by my dealer that the firmware in the units are of different generations so try a 2x2 unit as I see no artifacts and, yes, I did test the signal before and after installing the Gefen.

thanks Joel im just hesitant to spend anymore money on these things since having this experience maybe I will call gefen and talk to them directly about the problem

I use the 1:4 Gefen without any issues that you are describing. Sometimes I have a HDMI handshake issue, but it goes away with a quick power down and reconnect.

thats rather strange to hear two people that say they dont see anything, what projectors are you guys using? a anthem D2 with 1080p video processing was also used, could it be that it is revealing the artifacts from the gefen? without the gefen no artifacts

The Gefen is feeding a 768P projector and display (Mits WD2000U and Olevia 542i) and a older Samsung HLM507w (720P).


Yep, always doing construction in Warwick, thankfully I live in West Warwick.

Called Gefen today and told them about the problem they had me open the unit and change positions on one of the dip switches im not holding out much hope but cant hurt I guess
