Ummm. Perhaps by replacing the battery?

Ummm. You can probably hire someone to open the remote's battery compartment, extract the battery, determine it's type, go to a store (Thrifty, Radio Shack, etc.) and purchase a battery of the same type, go back to your place, insert the battery, cover the battery compartment, and test it by seeing if the remote operates properly.

Is it me or is there a hint of sarcasm in that response? :D

Seriously, just change the battery, it can't be anything you can't find at your local drug store.

Mjones response was more of what I was looking for, it did not look like a typical battery I can just find at a store, but maybe you can, thanks I will try radio shack tonight.

I know how to extract the battery, it was more of if replacement batteries were readily available at any store.

He can't go to local drug store.

His car won't start - it ran out of gas and he can't go to Detroit to get more.

I dont know about an extended warranty neither do I care, radio shack had a battery when I asked the manager, no problems. So no I should not have gotten the extended warranty especially for batteries.

Thanks to the people who helped without being a smartass. I just did not think that type of battery was available at my local store.

And for your information I live in alberta canada in a smaller town, not many stores around here.
