Where do the experts weigh in on these two devices? I know the Gefen unit is available now and the Pacific Cable unit is scheduled to ship around the end of January. Pacific Cable likes to call their's a switcher vs. a "selector". What category does the Gefen unit fall into? Also, the Gefen unit comes with some DVI cables, but I don't know about the quality or if a DVI cable is a DVI cable is a DVI cable...


Specifically, however, I'm wondering about the capability of the switches. Is either more designed to work with dual link cables? I know the Gefen unit will also pass analog while the Pacific Cable unit is purely digital. Can either unit handle 1080p? Is either unit better than the other and/or is one more future proof than the other?

I'm interested in the best DVI switcher as well. I can easily see the need for a 4-Input DVI switcher very soon in my setup. I've only looked at this one from bettercables.com
