I'm looking for advice because I want to hook up my crt proj and monitor

to the same cpu.I'm using winxp 512 ram and a 800 Duron chip.So which vid card for a BD 801s I'll be hooking everything into computer DVD player, VCR, and laserdisc player.Thanks for your excellent insight.Darryl

In general, Radeons are preferred for DVD/Video playback and GF's for 3d Gaming -- choose appropriately. You will probably want a dual head card in order to use both your monitor and proj without cable swapping or signal degradation from a vga switch though I have absolutely NO experience with them.

Do you think Radeon 7500 or 8500 all in wonder card or do I even need all in wonder?

No games - 7200 (no fan to create noise).

Some lesser games - 7500.

Games & good video - PCI 32/64 MB Radeon LE for DVD + AGP GF2 Ultra or GF3 x for games.


I wouldn't think you will need the AIW type.
