I just got a new HDTV, and am looking to upgrade my sound system with it. I was wondering if there was a good website or FAQ somewhere that explained a lot of the options that available.
I haven't really been keeping up with all the new tech for 6-7 years, and didn't have the money back then to get anything really good. So before I start planning out my new system, I wanted to gather as much info as possible
Some of my general questions would be:
1. Amplifiers - When do they become recommended, and what are the +/-'s to them (I'm talking about the seperate amps, not a combined AVR)
2. Advice on specs for given room sizes (wattage, speaker size, etc)
3. Maybe a list of recommended brands (this is probably too subjective to get though)
4. Dolby TruHD and all these new formats. I'm lost with anything other then 5.1 or DTS!
