So I've got 3.0, and it has the easy cable box setup screen. Problem is, I'm not sure which model I have. It doesn't say on the front, and I can't seem to find it on the back. Anybody know where to find it? I wonder if the cable company would even know...

Do you need the model number? I was just in the setup menu today, and when I selected my cable box manufacturer (Pioneer), it allowed me to try the 6 or 7 codes they had to see which one turned my box on.

However, if you have AT&T Digital Cable (which a lot of people in Indiana seem to have), then you probably have a DCT-1000. Other possibilities include the CFT-2200 (analog box with yellow channel display - channel number and name appears on screen when you change channels, commonly used by Cablevision and Time Warner in fiber-optic upgraded neighborhoods) or the 5507 (crappy little box with green channel display and only 3 buttons on front, Channel + - and Power -- automatically resets to Channel 03 every time you turn it on/off). There's another very popular GI box, often used by Cablevision and Time Warner for customers without fiber-optic upgrades. I can't recall the model number off-hand, but it has a red channel display with dozens of little buttons on the TOP.

Hope this helps.

Come to think of it, you probably don't have this box, because if you did, it would probably say "Jerrold" (which is now part of GI) on it.

We have two digital cable boxes, both are GI's but one is the DCT-1000 and the other is the DCT-2000.

We use IR blaster code 4476 but with some adjustments since these boxes are notorious for being slow and sticky sometimes (even when using it's own remote control) when typing in a channel number.

To do the fine tuning look at the FAQ (left of the banner on the top of your web browser right now) it works on 2.x and 3.x.

I've found for the delays, 360ms is best.
