Hello,

I just purchased a Denon 2808 receiver and I am going to use this receiver as a pre-amp for my PS3.

I have the HDMI cable coming from my PS3 to the HDMI1 input (yes...I made sure that the PS3 is outputting the audio signal using LPCM) and am using the Denon pre-outs (5.1) to my amps. But how do I tell the receiver that the audio signal coming from the PS3 into the Denon's HDMI 1 input needs to be output go to the Denon 7.1 analog pre-outs? I am not getting any audio signal at all and am wondering if I am missing a step somewhere. I am getting the video to pass through to my TV.

I read the manual many times, but it is quite confusing. (It is not a very good manual nor good user interface)

Can anyone help?

I don't own a Denon, but I would expect the pre-outs to be active all the time. You shouldn't have to enable them. You might want to try redoing the audio configuration on your ps3 - select the HDMI connection then automatic configuration.
