Installing surround sound for the first time in a living room about 22x15 and open on the sides to other rooms.
Need 5.1 speakers to go with a Denon AVR X2200W 7.2 and Vizio 70' (4k/HDR)
Wife said the speakers have to be white. I really do not want in-wall if I can help it.
I really do like the HSU-HB1-MK2s, and really want to pull the trigger on that value 5.1 set, but they don't come in white.
Does anyone know of a 5.1 set that comes with bookshelves in white? sub and center don't have to be white. (sub behind couch out of sight, center mostly obscured by tv, i know, not ideal)
Watch tv most of the time 70%, movies 25%, music 5%, something like that.
Sure I could paint the HSUs, but that would prob look like crap.
thanks.

Why does it matter having white bookshelves? I can understand white wall mount satellites. But bookshelves?

its a design decsion buddy...no @[email protected][email protected] idea why.
she has design override, I have financial override...its worked pretty well for 18 years until now.
SVS sats and bookshelves come in a very nice white, IIRC.

FWIW, I gave up every room in the house in exchange for a build-it-my-way HT room, I told her she can tell her friends a man needs at least one room that doesn't match to feel like its a "home," and that she conned me out of the rest of the house. Its going to be a velvet black, no frills home for giant, ugly speakers and subs. :)

Bowers & Wilkins have a black front screen, which matters for some reason. SVS looks like its exactly what she wanted.

Whafedale, Monitor Audio, DALI Zensor, DALI Opticon, and certain Bowers-Wilkins models all come in white and are all good speakers.

The Wharfedale REVA are a new line, just released, that are placed between the Diamond and the JADE speakers. Certainly a very intriguing speakers, and well worth looking into -

Just in case you haven't ordered the SVS speakers yet---or even if you have since hell, they have free return shipping---I forgot to mention these:

Pro review here:
http://www.goodsound.com/equipment/nht_classic_two_ten.htm

These DO have white grilles, so your wife has no further cause for complaint other than the fact that they are normal BOOKSHELF speakers not little SATELLITE speakers like the SVS---what that means is that you will get a much fuller and richer sound out of them, especially during any music listening. NHT is also known for excellent midrange meaning excellent voice clarity which you'll appreciate during TV and movies---you won't have to constantly turn up the volume just to understand the dialogue.

Here's a pic of them with white grilles on:
http://www.terapeak.com/worth/nht-classic-two-bookshelf-speaker-white-each/141831561727/

If she puts up a fuss I'd offer her a compromise: you can order 3 of the NHTs for the critical front stage, and keep 2 of the SVS sats for the surrounds.

You can diy speakers and have more choices and fantastic WAF approved finish of any color/texture applied (maybe not by you, there are guys who paint for a living)....just a thought. You can also change (or have changed) the fabric of a grill easily enough.

Q Acoustics speakers are available in White

Hello Sasfood

There are forum rules regarding 'self promotion'; so we don't know whether or not we're allowed to point out that Q Acoustics speakers are now available in the US and come in a variety of finishes, including 'gloss white'. They can be viewed via our qacoustics.com website.

Best regards

Q Acoustics

You could still do those HSU's if you really wanted them. Buy some white gloss vinyl wrap and take them to a local sign shop that wraps cars. They can get them looking very professional and would likely charge you less than $200 for all 5 speakers. They also sell white speaker cloth so it'd be easy to change out the grills as well. It'd be even cheaper if you were willing to wrap the speakers yourself.

This arrangement has saved more marriages -- including mine -- than anyone will ever know or appreciate.

Totem Acoustic makes some great looking bookshelf speakers, like the kin-mini and the mite.
