After reading a number of posts regarding the possibility of getting a Dish 5000 HD Modulator repaired, I decided to do a little checking. It has been implied that Dish would not repair an out of warranty, broken HD Modulator.
A very nice Dish Network technical supervisor by the name of Lynn said they would repair a 5000 HD Modulator, just like any of their products. Naturally if the product was out of warranty, a charge would apply.
This should come as no surprise, since Federal Law requires consumer electronics companies to offer repair for all products 7 years after they've been discontinued.
