Getting first RPTV, a couple of questions.

Just bought a Mits 65413 that will delivered on Friday. Since this is my first RPTV I have a couple of questions.


First: Routine maintenance. The sales guy was suggesting a 3 year exteneded warranty that comes with an annual cleaning of the set's interior. He said that Tweeter's techs would open up and clean the tubes and mirror. Is this really a necessary annual maintenance? I can see that it wouldn't necessarily hurt, but if the techs were sloppy they could cause more problems that they are trying to solve.


Second: I have read that you need to let the set burn in before starting to really tweak it. Is it better to leave the set on 24/7 for 4-5 days or is it better to just leave it on part of the day instead.


Sorry if these seem really basic, but most of the discussion I've read is on the pros/cons of the sets and not what to do with them once you get them home. Thanks for you help.
