Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex (series)

Ghost in the Shell 2nd GIG (series)


Where does Solid State Society fit in?

From what I've gathered from the Wikipedia, Solid State Society is a movie based on the events from the Stand Alone Complex series and fits in after 2ng gig.. but won't be the end of the Stand Alone Complex series.

Excellent news! They'd better release more BD anime after this one.

The movie is already out in Japan on DVD and can be imported, plenty of fansubs to be had on this one.


Very very long wait. I hope some other anime comes out before this.

A lot of anime over the last two years has aired in high def and 16:9 format in Japan. Once the player market is there, I don't doubt that there will be plenty of anime releases in BD. For older anime, the value is questionable.

I am so getting this. As for fansubs, well, they aren't the dub, so I'll wait for the dub.


Oh, and Solid State Society takes place after 2nd Gig. Secondly, the first two movies have NOTHING to do with SAC.

The Stand Alone Complex series does not follow the continuity of the two movies. It exists in sort of an alternate parallel timeline utilizing the same characters and concept.

SSS has nothing to do with SAC&GIG TV series. SSS is supposed to happen after the second movie(Innocence).

SSS is a movie direct to SAT, similar to OVA. AFAIK, it is not a series.
