Does anyone have any feedback about their products?

Especially their bass traps?

All information appreciated.

I did a fairly extensive install of GIK products, including their bass traps. Excellent products, excellent results and an excellent company with which to do business.

Read all about my experiences with GIK here:

Great company... have some great products, and excellent customer service..

They frequent audioholics and here I believe...

I remember when they only had a few traps and 2 colors. Black and Beige. Look at them now! Many selections!

Glen at GIK is a wonderful guy. HE called me and asked what my options were. Very friendly and courteous. BTW, fantastic Tri corner traps! He had a power buy some time ago on the Tri Traps and I jumped on them and got 4.

GIK has great customer service. They are extremely responsive to questions and very helpful.

I had a very reflective, small room with 9 foot ceilings and they helped me configure placement and selection. This room had a very strong echo, but using GIK's recommendations, the room is NOW very absorbent, but not a dead room which was my concern due to its size.

When anyone would have a general conversation in the room, the sound would reverberate off the walls and sound hollow. You can't imagine what it was like when I raised the volume on audio or when my wife was yelling at me to get the hell out of that room.
After using their product, it's a delight to not only converse in my room, but audio is considerably much more pleasant.

In the end, I am a convert that before upgrading or even the initial step of placing audio equipment in a room, treat the room even if at a minimal level. I had concerns that the treatments would be gaudy and not attractive, but in time, you don't even notice them from a visual standpoint. I did a combination of off white and black colors.

My only suggestion to GIK and I've spoken with Glen about this is to place more photos on the web site to show real time home application of their product line. Besides that comment, I'd highly recommend them.

Great customer service, affordable and money well spent for someone who wants to experience the best output from their equipment.

I have purchased about 16 traps from Glen @ GIK, a very good product for the price. Yes you can spend more and what you will get is a better fabric on the panels, but that's about it. Highly recommended!

I've been very pleased with my GIK purchase. I agree with all the comments about customer service and Glen. We noticed an immediate difference in SQ, with the traps.
I just purchased from GIK 8 panels, and they showed up at my house with 10 days.

They are still sitting in the box.

Michael
I have 2 "244" panels in each front corner, a "224" panel at each 1st reflection point, and a "224" behind my center channel speaker. You can see them in my gallery in my signature - I put my own fabrics over the panels.

They work very good, and the customer service with GIK was very good as well. Highly recommended.
Yet another good experience with GIK to report. I just ordered 4 of the standard 244 panels for bass traps as well as a pair of custom height panels. I have a 92" ceiling in my downstairs HT room so I'm not able to stack two standard height (48") 244's in my corners. Glenn was very helpful and the quote for custom sized panels was very reasonable.

Glenn,

The guys on AVS are pretty sharp consumers and for sure your company has earned it accolades.

I never really understood the benefits of room treatments until I installed and experienced their functionality in a room. In the future, I would always recommend this essential cog to any audio room.

Ok guys it is about 6 pm here in Atlanta, NOW I can say CHEERS to all of you with a Slaropramen Beer in my hand.

CHEERS!!!!!!!!!

Oh one more thing no one mentioned Bryan (bape screen name). He has been a huge help with not only educating people but does a ton of room set up work with me. Great guy and should get a lot of credit!
I am sure this statement is going to cost me, in form of a RAISE.

Glenn,

Actually I wanted to use Bryan's name, but to be frank, old timers disease did me in. Bryan and i exchanged probably 10 emails within a time span of 24 hours. As I noted when we spoke, he is a very valuable asset to your firm. Now, give him a 15% raise!!

How about people post pictures of your GIK panels installed.

Michael
I'm game for that. I'll also post pics of my DIY subwoofer (two TC sounds TC 12's, each in a 2.5 cf sealed enclosure, twin Buttkickers for power) project once it's complete as well.

Not trying to cause bandwidth problems or slow downloads. I don't know of any other way to post photos. The room is still a work in process.
