Girder and Xlobby. Is there an Xlobby plugin for girder

1344 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  John Nelson
Hello.

Girder seems to be another way to get Xlobby to work with USB-UIRT.

If anyone here uses Girder with Xobby, can you please let me know if there is a .GML plugin needed so Girder can control the Xlobby application.

Please see this picture to see what I'm talking about:

It seems that for every program that Girder is able to control there is a .GML file in this directory for that program. Such as VLC, PowerDVD, Meedio basic, Media player, Theatretek, etc.....

Please let me know how to get the .GML file or how Girder is able to control Xlobby.

Thanks for your help!

there is a great plug-in called "xremote" on XL forum
What are you trying to control in XLobby? There are so many different skins available for XLobby there really couldn't be a generic .gml file. Girder can send triggering events to XLobby & vice versa, but you need to define what you want Girder to do.

That's very true and that's where xremote comes in - it will read all events in your skin and generate gml file for you, so all you'll have to do is teach girder your IR commands.
Where do I get this Xremote from? Do you like a link to the website? This program runs in windows or is it a plugin for xlobby?

Thanks.

Thanks.

Look at this thread on Xlobby site. It works great. It's a plugin for Xlobby. Basically you tell Xremote all the buttons your remote, It will create a GML for Girder, then you "learn" all the keys in Girder, and then with XRemote configure, you can define what each keys does globally, or for each screen. really cool..
