Girl, Interrupted

Wow is all I have to say about this movie. Watched it Saturday with my wife and my parents. My wife found it in the $5.50 bin at Wally World. Having bipolar disorder my self I can really appreciate what these women went through. Although back in the 60's they certainly didn't have the knowledge we do today about the various mental illnesses portrayed in Girl, Interrupted, nor the medications that we have availible today. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book I highly suggest you do (although I haven't read the book myself). And since it is based on a true story its even more profoundly moving.

And if anyone cares a good source for more info on the various illnesses is here: http://www.nami.org/Template.cfm?Section=By_Illness

The book is a good, fast read (I finished it in less than a day). The movie tarts it up a great deal and adds a lot of melodramatic stuff that is not in the book. Angelina Jolie's character is much less a villain and has a smaller role (she won the Oscar for her performance).
