My experiences from the past few weeks
I thought i wanted a setup where a screen could come down in front of my tv. When i had it installed, it had a few very minor waves. Nothing unusual for a pull down screen of any kind but it annoyed the hell outta me cos i use a htpc and it makes any waves way more obvious
I exchanged the screen for a fixed one, re organised my room (and i can still wheel out my tv when i want to use it) and it is a 100 times better
a fixed screen IMHO is soooo much better it's scary
So my advice is to really explore the fixed screen option first
And i have see quite expensive tab tensioned motorised pulldowns and whilst a lot better than non tab tensioned, i still don't think they are as straight and pure as a fixed screen
