Godfather packaging problems

292 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  kal
My wife gave me the Godfather set yesterday afternoon and when I pulled off the paper on the back of the box, it left lots of glue which wouldn't come off. The more I tried, the more it messed up the box. Not acceptable.

BTW, it was purchased at Best Buy.

So, I took it back and they let me exchange it but the new one has the paper also. I'm not going to even try to pull it off right now, but I don't want to leave it on there. The paper is obviously supposed to come off. There are only two small strips of glue holding it on but the glue is just way too strong.

Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone have a solution?

Funny - I thought the paper was SUPPOSED to stay there! Like yours, mine wasn't attached firmly all the way around so I added some extra glue to make it permanent.

I would've thought that it was supposed to stay and I messed up by pulling it off, but, like the front, there is gold lettering underneath the paper. I'm sure they wouldn't have payed all that money to letter both sides just to cover one up.
Take some scotch tape and carefully press it onto the residual glue. It took a few minutes, but I was able to get it all off and the case looks fine.

Interesting! Then it definitely wasn't meant to be glued! A mistake on the packing for sure....
