Ok I like to start off by saying I am new to this forum cause I was told to ask my quesion on this forum as many experts are members of this forum. I also like to add that samsung DLP Tvs are the most junkie worthless disposable tv's I have ever seen! Are all DLP tv's bad? NO! Mitsubish DLP sets are awesome and as long as mitsubishi makes DLP sets that is all I will buy, Now then, I have 4 DLP tv's 2 samsung 2 mitsubishi. I have had nothing but problems with both samsungs. I have been able to easily fix my one samsung but this one is driving me nuts, Its a samsung model hlp4663wx and I have installed a new ballast, bulb already. I checked the saftey switch, I check to make sure the color wheel spins which it does. Here is what happens, I turn the set on the bulb will light for about 5 seconds then it will shut off and I will get nothing but blinking lights on the front of the set. Every once in a blue moon this tv may run for a whole 15 minutes with a perfect picture then all of a sudden the picture wil freeze turn all white and then go black and the bulb will go out. Ok, I am becoming disgusted with trying to find out what is happening here. PLEASE HELP! And this is a big forum so if I posted in the wrong thread sorry.

To add if the color wheel spins but not fast enough due to it going bad would that make the bulb not want to stay on? I only ask cause a few times when the bulb stayed on longer than 5 seconds I could here a fan like noise spinning at a high rate of speed. I do know the color wheel does spin as I can take a flash light and see it spinning threw the window.

Apparently you are unaware of the Mitsubishi Light Engine failures.

I doubt anyone will be making DLPs in 24 months (if not sooner).
