Going to buy the best 32" LCD that $700-$800 will buy. Need help

I will not pretend to be an expert(far from it), so I need some good advice. I am looking at buying a 32" LCD and I have been reading many reviews. It looks like I might go with a Sharp, Panasonic or Westinghouse. Does anyone own a LG because they looked pretty sharp in Best Buy.

Besides what tv is in your opinion the best to buy, do you believe if I waited until around July 4th, I will see the prices fall due to the holiday? Finally, I plan on either buying the set at Best Buy or Costco.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I was always taught that the best sales for TVs are in May. I don't see this to be true but every week those flyers have something different. I have a Westinghouse 32" and so far it's pretty good. I paid 599.99 + 99.99 for a 4 year warrenty. I like Samsung products, but they are too over priced. The Westinghouse doesn't have as good a picture , but for the price I'll live with it!

We have a 32" LG LCD HDTV and we love it. We just wanted a TV that looks good when watching digital cable or HD cable channels, standard DVDs, and such... and IMO this TV's just fine for all of the above. Picture's great, and our model has 2 HDMI slots (you might want to make sure you look for that as well, if you intend on attaching an upconverting DVD player or DVD recorder to it, in addition to an HD cable box, if that's what you have in mind). We've had it since last November and have had no troubles at all with it.

I'd highly recommend the LG TVs...good luck! Hope you enjoy your new TV, whatever you do choose.

I would just like to point out some of the Olevia models fall into that price range and offer quite a good value such as the 537h I own two of them and IMHO they offer an exceptional price/performance ratio good/great SD and DVD performance excellent HDTV performance thats on par with some other more expensive brands and a one year onsite warranty isn't bad either they also offer an extended warranty at a fair price as well worth a look by the way they are also nicely calibrated out of the box just my $.02 hope it helps
