Golf in HD 2005?

Not to sound rude, but what other comments do you want? So far the only confirmed announcement has been the Master's.

How many tourny's were broadcast in hd last year? Which ones? the Majors?

Most of what was on CBS was in HD. But with a lot of 16:9 SD cameras mixed in (golf requires a lot of cameras).

From a post last week, this is the CBS announcement about golf in HD last season. It doesn't mention which tournaments were in HD last year.

If I recall correctly, most of the CBS tournaments from the Masters to the PGA Championship used some HD cameras. But as Karyk pointed out, there were also a lot of SD cameras thrown in.


I'm hoping that when the Masters in HD is officially announced, CBS will announce other tournaments as well.

Note that a number of the scheduled events were scaled back to SD only, which was due to the mobile production units (HD trucks) having to be reworked for the HD NFL games of the just ended season. I don't expect this will be the case this year.

Any new news on this? The lack of any kind of announcement makes me think that we wont be seeing any HD golf on CBS anytime soon. Would this be the first time an event broadcast in HD one year was not broadcast in HD the follow year?

ABC did Monday Night Football in HD about four (?) years ago and then went back to SD until this year, I believe.
